Apple iPad Mini Manual

The first generation of Apple iPad Mini was announced on October 23rd, 2012 alongside with the 4th generation iPad. The iPad Mini has 7.9-inch display with a resolution of 1024×768 and shipped with iOS 6.0 but currently available for free upgrade to iOS 9.

However, the original iPad Mini won’t be able to enjoy some features on the new iOS 9 as they were limited only for the second and third generation of iPad Mini.

The original iPad Mini has four internal flash memory options, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, but has no expansion option. It also has some pre-installed applications, like Siri, Safari, Mail, Photos, Video, Music, iTunes, App Store, Maps, Notes, Calendar, Game Center, Photo Booth, and Contacts. The iPad Mini is also completed with 5 MP and 1.2 MP cameras and the Lightning connector.

On October 22nd, 2013, the iPad mini with Retina display or the iPad Mini 2 was announced alongside with the iPad Air. The second generation of iPad Mini has a high resolution display, a faster processor and a Retina Display. It was released on November 12, 2013 and was sold at $399.

The iPad Mini 2 has almost identical design with its predecessor but has better specs like A7 system-on-a-chip and 2,048 x 1,536 resolution Retina Display. It was releases in two color options, Space Gray and Silver.

On October 16, 2014, the iPad Mini 3 was unveiled alongside the iPad Air 2. It is also known as iPad mini 3 with Touch ID. It has almost the same design with the iPad Mini 2 but has new features that make it different with its predecessor.

On September 9, 2015, the iPad Mini 4 was announced alongside with the iPad Pro during the “Hey Siri” Apple Special Event. It ships with the iOS 9 operating system pre-installed, so all new features on iOS 9 is available on the iPad Mini 4, including the new feature called the Split View.
